Medical Engineeering has been in existance since 1975. Originally based at Withington Hospital we transferred to the Wythenshawe Hospital site following re-organisation of the South Manchester Hospitals. The Group comprises; six workshops supporting the University Hospitals of South Manchester, two workshops supporting Christie Hospital and one supporting Withington Community Hospital. Our staff comprise 33 highly skilled, graduate, technical and clerical support staff making 35.

Our expertise is in the fields of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, with a particular emphasis on Medical Instrumentation. We have modern well equipped electronic and mechanical workshops with a wide range of test equipment, calibration equipment and machine tools. Medical Engineering has been accredited to ISO9001 standards for the quality of its services since 1994.
